Yes, you! The writer with the finished manuscript(s) that you keep revising while avoiding the hardest part of getting published if you fear the self-publishing road as I do…finding an agent or a publisher. Now, pay attention because there are a couple events coming up tailored for you.
Sorry for the late notice on this one, but there is a pitch party coming up on Twitter this Thursday, June 7 from 8 AM to 8 PM (EDT). It’s…
#PitMad from Pitch Wars!!!!
You can find everything you need to know right here at http://pitchwars.org/pitmad/
Essentially, it’s a pitch party on Twitter where you can tweet a 280-character pitch for your completed but unpublished manuscript. Literary agents and publishers will check in throughout the day to review tweets and will favorite a tweet if they are interested in receiving additional materials from the author(s).
Every unagented writer is invited to pitch. All genres are also accepted for tweets.
Now, there are some rules, which you can read on the link above to #PitMad. So I will trust all my wonderful author friends will check out the link and will ready your pitches.
One special rule of importance…do not favorite other authors’ tweets/pitches. This is just to be done by agents/publishers as their way of letting authors know they are interested in their manuscript(s).
But that’s not all…
Yes, there is much more…
Savvy Authors runs a quarterly pitchfest and there just so happens to be one coming up June 13-16, 2018. It’s called the 2018 Hot Summer Pitchfest and information can be found here https://savvyauthors.com/blog/2018-hot-summers-pitchfest-index/
There’s a few more rules to follow on this one, but they are easy to follow. Leave a 3-line pitch as a comment on their blog. No registration or membership or subscription required.
Main requirement is that your manuscript is 100% finished. No works in progress (WIPs).
There will be a lineup of literary agents and publishers participating in the PitchFest event. Check out the link above to research the ones best suited for your manuscript as well as the full list of rules.
Good luck, my lovely author friends and please keep me posted on your pitch results!
